‘I’m every woman, it’s all in me!’ – Whitney Houston
I had an interesting convo with my guy cousin a few weeks back, he was viewing one of my most recent live videos.
His comment was that I should consider doing most of my content with the doek and all, “trademarking my vibe” in a way. He said it gives a respectable vibe that is appealing to people and gets a lot of likes.
He wasn’t wrong!
Whenever I post images or videos with doeks, shweshwe and aprons I get A LOT OF LIKES AND VIEWS!
But here’s the thing, the doeks, shweshwes and aprons are not my default attire, not even high up on my list of ‘what to wear’ on a daily basis.
I believe in authenticity, and I show up as I am, whomever I am on that day.
If I am
🧘♀️Zenning? Short shorts are my zen gear.
🤸in the get-fit moment, of course i will be sweating in my leggings.
💤Lounging at home? Sweatpants and hoodies straight up.
🛌Just woke up or bedtime? My favourite gown will be all up in your face.
💃🎶Meeting girls out? Sassy sexy me comes out playing like you won’t believe!
💼Business meeting? That suit and heels power up like boardroom yesteryears.
❤️👄Date night? You best believe there is a sexy lacy onesie underneath whatever graces my outer body.
🎯Beach? Imma rock that bikini like you won’t believe!
🧸Being Mama, aunty and all those traditional homely roles? Nothing makes me happier than dressing up in those doeks, shweshwes and aprons.
Bottom line is, I am happiest when I embrace all of me, and show up as such.
Take me as I am in that moment, all of me, like what you do, leave what you don’t but Me is Me and I am every woman you can imagine!
We all are, deep inside…
My insides kinda also come out to play, coz ke, I make my rules andithi, and love recording the moments.
Taadaa😘🫦
